Loch Ness

Staring at the city of Inverness and extending 22.5 miles to the town of Fort Augustus, Loch Ness is the largest area of surface water within Scotland. It is deeper than the North Sea and its volume is equivalent to all the surface water within England and Wales.

It is perhaps most famously known as being home to the Loch Ness Monster or “Nessie” to the locals. The legend of the Loch Ness Monster has been the subject of much debate from scientists over the years.  There have been many sightings over the years ranging from the locals to self professed Nessie hunters!  Although much of the evidence produced has been proven as fake there are still some images, films and sonar readings that have yet to be disproved
