| The Fife Coastal Path is 82.5 miles (132km) long and was completed in 2002. It begins just over the water from Edinburgh in North Queensferry and is completed at Tayport on the northern edge of Fife. Along the way there is a good selection of Historical sites, Natural interest and small towns to experience in a thoroughly rewarding walk.
There is a multitude of wildlife from Puffins on the Isle of May and even the possibility of Seals, Dolphins and Porpoises in the Firth of Forth. While Dysart offers the chance to see foxes or wild minks.
You also pass through St Andrews which is well known as being the home of golf with no less than 6 golf courses including the world renowned Old Course to choose from.
From a historical prospective there are many castles and historical sites to visit along the way. In St Andrews there are many old building such as the cathedral and also Scotland's oldest university. Good castles in the area include Falkland palace and Culross Palace.
