The battlefield at Bannockburn is one of the most important historical locations in the country. This is where the battle between Robert the Bruce's Scottish army and the English Army of Edward II was fought for Scotland's independence.

You can view the site and learn about the battle at the Heritage Centre which also includes an impressive audio-visual show.

Site: all year, Everyday until dusk (car park closed December and January)
