Dundee is known as the "city of discovery", a reference to the R.S.S Discovery which was the first expedition ship to chart the Antarctica and is now permanently docked at Dundee. The city was formerly known for the three "J"s, these were journalism, jam and jute. The creation of Marmalade and development of ATM machines came from here and today its main focus is IT where top computer games such as Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings have been developed. As for tourist attractions in the city there is the grand Glamis Castle a few miles outside the city and the redeveloped McManus galleries. The city is also an excellent shopping centre with 2 indoor centres position at opposite sides of the High Street.
