Dundee and Angus
Dundee is known as the city of Discovery and it gets this title from the ship of the same name which sailed to the Antarctic under the stewardship of Captain Scott. The RSS Discovery reached farther south than anyone had been before and after 86 years of service the ship was returned to the city where it was built in 1986. The ship is now one of Dundee's top tourist attractions and you can climb on board and take a tour as it is permanently docked in the Tay.

Dundee is the fourth largest city in Scotland and it expanded greatly in size during the industrial revolution thanks to the Jute industry which employed most of Dundee's population until its decline in the late 20th Centaury.

Dundee was also well known for Jam and Journalism, the Jam association came from the production of marmalade where the product was supposed to have been invented back in 1797 by Janet Keiller. As for journalism the well respected D.C Thompson's was founded here in 1905 and it has published popular comics the Beano and Dandy and the Sunday Post newspaper.
