There are two main shopping centres located in Dundee at either end of the high street.  The Wellgate is the oldest and is on 3 levels but it has been over taken by the Overgate as the main shopping area in recent years.  The Wellgate is located near the bus station and the Overgate is at the other end of the high street.  There is a late shopping night on a Thursday when most shops are after 6pm.

There is a vibrant nightlife within Dundee, all the main pubs and clubs are located within the city centre and tend to be within walking distance.

Pubs

Bread
Located next to Abertay University on Bell Street, this is a popular place with students and often has good drinks promotions on.  It is also a good place for low price pub grub.

Tally’s
Hidden away from the city centre on the way to Dundee union this small bar is always packed at the weekends.  They are well know for there flavoured vodka shots, including creame egg vodka and malteser vodka.  You can also pick up cheap pitchers of cocktails.

Clubs

Fat Sams
The main club in Dundee since the Mardi shut its doors, it is about a 10 minute walk from the city centre and has multiple levels.  The best night is a Wednesday which is student night, Sundays usually an R&B night.

Déjà vu
Aimed at an older crowd, it is opposite the Wellgate shopping centre and has 3 bars inside on one level.  This is probably the cheapest club to visit on a Friday or Saturday as the entry is cheaper and you will be able to pick up some good drink promotions.
